Friday Evening Photoblogging: Travel Edition

When I was getting photos ready for tonight's diary, I was struck at how many of my photos in the last three years are of political events, politicians, and the sort.

I am posting tonight not from home, but from Williamsburg, Virginia. I came down for the weekend, and to get away sort of, from political events and pressure in this Virginia election season (we have no other seasons evidently).

Point Pleasant, WV

Mothman Statue You have heard of the Mothman Prophecy? There was even a movie made about this legend. Here is the plaque on the statue:

Below is the magazine at the park where the Kanawha River and the Ohio River meet.

Underneath it are buried a majority of the Colonial Soldiers that died in the battle, one that was said to be the first of the Revolution.

Here is a shot of the statue and the sun behind it. The park is known as Tu-Endie-Wei, or where the rivers meet. (so I am told)

Here is a shot inside the library in downtown Seattle. It is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. Most of the materials used in building it are natural or recycled.

This is the inside of one of the subway stations. When I was there, something had gone wrong in the building of it, so buses were using the space where tracks would have been.

This is a statue of Columbus that stands near the Coit Tower.
